Bing Twitter Search

It seems with everyone Tweeting online these days, Bing and Google both want to join in the fun. Both companies announced yesterday that they would be including relevant Tweets in their search results. Bing made their announcement at the Web 2.0 conference in San Fransisco, and it appears to me that Bing may be out in front of Google a bit on this one.

Although they both recognize the importance of "in the moment" search results, it appears Bing has a solution already in place. Google is left looking as though they are scrambling to catch up. Has Google relaxed their guard and let the upstart Bing upstage them on this one? It appears they have. In Bing's announcement, they revealed that they had been working for some time with Twitter and they now have access to the entire public Twitter feed.

Bing also has a beta of "Bing Twitter search" already in place for you to play with. Bing has even developed what they call a social caption which has a different look than the usual captions. All in all, I'd call Bing Twitter Search a huge win for Bing in the search engine war, if there is one. You can find Bing's announcement here, Bing Twitter Search.
