Facebook-Winning The Mobile Race
Facebook-Top Social Networking Site
Facebook became the top social networking site some months ago when they slipped past a tiring MySpace. They haven't rested on their laurels, in fact, they have increased the pressure on all the other social sites. Now it looks like they're poised to win the mobile race, as well. Facebook Mobile just announced that they have passed the 65 million mark for active mobile device users. Just eight months ago they totalled only 20 million users. At that rate they should reach 100 million by 2010. Now, that's a lot of cell phones.
Facebook Mobile-Started 2006
Facebook Mobile may have started slowly, but it looks like they will finish fast. When Facebook started Facebook Mobile in 2006, they offered only status updates and photo uploads for mobile devices, and those applications were only offered in English. Since then they have evolved into two mobile sites: m.facebook.com for any mobile browser, and the newer x.facebook.com for the new touch screen phones like the big four, Android, Palm, iPhone and Nokia.
Facebook Mobile-Now In 60 Languages
Today, you can use your Facebook Mobile in more than 60 languages and you can do almost anything from your mobile device that you can do from your pc. It's easy to view and update your Facebook page, update your status, and browse your friends profiles, all from your cell phone. As you can see, Facebook Mobile's assention to the top in the mobile race was not an accident. They have been preparing for this for several years, maybe from the very beginning.
